SY26 CPS Dual Language Conference
Friday June 5, 2026 10:00am - 10:50am PDT
Limited Capacity full
Writing is more than just a school requirement; it is a powerful lever for equity and a primary vehicle for multilingual learners (MLs) to express their identity and agency. In this session, participants will explore how to design strengths-based writing instruction using the WIDA and Marco DALE Key Language Uses (Narrate, Inform, Explain, Argue) and Proficiency Level Descriptors. By clearly defining what students need to do and focusing on how to support them, educators will leave with practical tools and actionable strategies to help dual language learners grow into confident, proficient writers.
