SY26 CPS Dual Language Conference
Friday June 5, 2026 10:00am - 10:50am PDT
Limited Capacity seats available
This session explores what it means to teach reading in Spanish in ways that are aligned to both research and the structure of the language itself. Grounded in the Science of Reading and the Simple View of Reading, we will examine how decoding and language comprehension develop in Spanish, and what this asks of instruction in bilingual and dual language classrooms. Participants will consider how clarity in scope and sequence, coherence in instructional design, and care in language and student experience come together to support strong, confident readers. Through practical examples, we will explore how to design instruction that reflects the logic of Spanish and creates meaningful access to reading for all students.
