About me
Alissa Machani is a passionate literacy and bilingual education advocate. As an educator, she worked as a bilingual teacher, a dual language teacher, and an English language interventionist. She has a Master of Education in Elementary Education from DePaul University and endorsements in bilingual education, English as a Second Language, and as a reading specialist. In her current role, she manages the Biliteracy Team within the Office of Multilingual Multicultural Education with Chicago Public Schools. Her team supports the implementation of the Skyline Artes del lenguaje del español curriculum, as well as biliteracy development districtwide.
