About me
I am an educator with 18 years of experience and have earned World Language, Bilingual, and ESL endorsements. I started my career as a Dual Language teacher at a charter school on Chicago’s south side. In that role, I learned Dual Language best practices, leadership skills, and supporting and advocating for students and parents. I continued my advocacy and sharing of best practices as a coach of bilingual teachers for the Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL). There I expanded my repertoire by exploring techniques and strategies for adult learners. In my next role as a Bilingual Induction Coach and Instructor at UChicago UTEP, I expanded on those skills by creating and teaching an ISBE-compliant Bilingual/ESL endorsement program for teachers. Currently I work for the World Language Unit, where I support teachers across the district teaching in world language programs.
