At Jeffrey’s Grove Elementary (N.C.), educators use the theme La Media Naranja, two halves forming a perfect whole, to unite Dual Language and traditional programs under one shared global vision. Like many DLI schools, they saw strong bilingualism and biliteracy outcomes. But they recognized that the true finish line was broader: a school where all students see themselves as prepared, valued, and connected to the wider world.Achieving that vision required intentionally aligning student voice, belonging, and leadership across every program and classroom—not just within Dual Language. In this session, learn the practical structures and leadership moves that helped build schoolwide coherence, strengthen collaboration, and connect language learning to real-world global learning and long-term readiness for every student.
