At Volta our instructional middle school framework employs a two-teacher model in conjunction with a planned allocation model. This balanced approach ensures students are immersed in a dynamic and comprehensive learning environment. This carefully designed model is fundamentally rooted in affirming the students' individual and collective identities, celebrating their linguistic and cultural assets as essential components of their educational journey. Our primary goal is the comprehensive enhancement of students' literacy skills across all four foundational domains of language: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Using the Skyline curriculum instruction extends beyond basic communication skills to include the critical development of socio-cultural competence. The overall design fosters high academic achievement while simultaneously promoting biculturalism and biliteracy.
