The Illinois Venezuelan Alliance (IVA) developed educational and cultural initiatives toease the feelings of isolation and abandonment faced by Venezuelan immigrants duringtheir acculturative process since arriving. The workshop emphasizes quick integration,bridging large cultural and experiential differences, and offering trauma-informedsupport. Major activities included educational sessions on U.S. workforce culture,school-based assistance for migrant children, emotional health support for migrantwomen, traditional musical expressions, and community-driven cultural integrationprograms. Participants will engage in activities that empower immigrant children withskills for their new school environments. These interventions aim to shift from a crisis-management approach to successfully navigating a democratic, service-orientedsociety.
